I had found this bit on this post The Wisdom of the Aging Brain by Anil Ananthaswamy and felt these to be quite accurate.
Six components of wisdom:
- Having pragmatic knowledge of life;
- Emotion regulation;
- Pro-social behavior, which would entail compassion, altruism, and empathy;
- Knowing one’s strengths and limitations;
- Decisiveness;
- Acceptance of uncertainty.
Each one of these is quite important and requires a bit of pondering on what all each means, how do these play role in our lives and why are they critical.
If I might add an addendum, I would like to add “Ability to differentiate knowledge, intelligence and wisdom” to it.
