Six components of wisdom

I had found this bit on this post The Wisdom of the Aging Brain by Anil Ananthaswamy and felt these to be quite accurate.

Six components of wisdom:

  1. Having pragmatic knowledge of life;
  2. Emotion regulation;
  3. Pro-social behavior, which would entail compassion, altruism, and empathy;
  4. Knowing one’s strengths and limitations;
  5. Decisiveness;
  6. Acceptance of uncertainty.

Each one of these is quite important and requires a bit of pondering on what all each means, how do these play role in our lives and why are they critical.

If I might add an addendum, I would like to add “Ability to differentiate knowledge, intelligence and wisdom” to it.
